                    CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
   THE WORLD CONFERENCE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION (AI-ED 95)

The Program Committee of the 7th World Conference of Artificial
Intelligence in Education (AI-ED 95) invites proposals for the
Workshop Program of the conference. The conference is being held in
Washington DC, USA, 16th-19th August 1995. Individual workshops will
typically be a half day in duration, and will be held on Wednesday,
16th August.

Workshop participants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss
issues with a selected focus - providing an informal setting for
active interchange among researchers, developers, and users on topics
of interest. Members of all segments of the AI in Education
community are encouraged to submit proposals.

			   Proposal Content

Proposals for workshops should include the following information:
  - A clear description of the workshop objectives, and the intended
    audience;
  - An outline of the specific issues on which the workshop will
    focus;
  - A brief discussion of why the workshop is of particular interest
    at this time;
  - The names and addresses of the workshop chair and organizing
    committee. The organizing committee, including the workshop
    chair, should consist of 3 to 4 people knowledgeable in the field.
    Strong proposals include organizers who bring differing perspectives
    to the workshop topic.

The proposal should be presented in the form of a 200-word abstract, a
1-page topical outline of the content, and a description of the
proposers and their qualifications related to the workshop topic.

Administrative Details

The workshop organizing committees will be responsible for soliciting
position papers from prospective participants, and selecting
participants. AI-ED will provide logistic support and meeting places
for the workshops, handle registration, and print working notes.
People registered for the AI-ED 95 conference will be able to register
for the workshops for free; others will be charged a registration fee
to attend the workshops.

Workshop organizers are expected to prepare a workshop summary for
publication in the AI-ED Newsletter and in newsletters of other
organizations supporting the AI-ED 95 conference.

Organizing committees are expected to cooperate with the AI-ED
program to meet scheduling deadlines. If the organizers miss
deadlines set by the AI-ED Workshop Chair, AI-ED reserves the
right to cancel the workshop.

Submissions

Workshop proposals should be submitted as soon as possible but no later
than January 6th, 1995. Electronic submissions are encouraged. Please
