Hi folks,

According to Digitool's web pages, Digitool will soon begin shipping a
PowerPC-native version of MCL to their current MCL customers. They say
that this first release version doesn't do much optimization, but they
give benchmark results anyway.
See http://www.digitool.com/MCL-benchmarks.html for more info.

An interpretation of their benchmark results suggest that on a PowerMac, a
PPC-native Apple Dylan TR would run 2.5 times faster than the non-native
version on the same machine. I sure hope they are able to improve on that.
