I think it's very telling that Mitch Gart says he hadn't heard anything
about Bob Dylan in years and thought him dead. Consider this: Dylan was
one of the headliners at Woodstock '94. Heard of that? Let's see, then
there's the multi-million selling Travelling Wilburys albums. Guess you
never heard any of that on the radio either. Bob has appeared twice on
the David Letterman show recently, supposedly a bastion for the hip, but
I guess Mitch never heard of Letterman either. Guess he must be dead
too.

As for the thought that Dylan should thank Apple for increasing his name
recognition, I think the reason for the suit is to achieve the *exact
opposite*. Believe it or not, Dylan isn't interested in increasing his
name recognition or album sales. He seems to be intent on *decreasing*
his fame through - get ready for this - overexposure! That's right,
there is more Dylan in the public spotlight these days than ever before.

Why not call it DYLANG or DYNAML or DLANG or - here's a revolutionary
idea - just call it D. The fact that an acronym was formed to look like
a famous name (be it Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan, or that guy from Beverly
Hills 90210-5746) tells me that there was no accident involved.
