Further to my comments about wondering if Globalview is available under
MS Windows, thanks to all who sent me information. As thanks for the
time taken, here is a summary of the replies. As all the replies were
consistent, this information is probably of interest to others.

Globalview for Windows is available from Xsoft (phone numbers available
from www.xerox.com). The product was well-reviewed. Note that at least
a 486 is recommended for reasonable performance. (More specific
recommendations are not given because as with all software
it all depends on what you want to do with it.) No hardware assist is
required for the product running under Windows 3.1 The product was
referred to as GVWin, or GlobalView WorksPlus for Microsoft Windows
3.1(tm) 1.0. It was mentionned that GlobalView includes all the best
features of the original ViewPoint software.

as a personal opinion, I found that Viewpoint/globalview when I used it
to be the among the best software I ever used then or since. I look
forward to following up the information I received.
