The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI-Lab) of CAIT is seeking candidates who are interested in developing decision support systems for medicine and environmental protectings. We expect that the candidates have at least the Bachelor degree and experiences in one or several of the following fields --Object-oriented system design and programming with C++ --Logic programming and knowledge representation --Database programming under a client-server structure --GUI programming Knowledge of intensive medicine, laboratory medicine or oncology is preferable, but not necessary. CAIT includes various laboratories (PC-Lab, AI-Lab, Network-Lab, Computer-Linguistic-Lab). AI-Lab is associated with the department of mathematics and computer science of the university of Bremen. It has 15 research staff positions and 15 research assistants on average. The primary aim of AI-Lab. is to promote the application and development of state-of-the-art information systems using techniques from artificial intelligence and advanced mathematics. The decision support systems developed by AI-Lab for contracts from industry and govemment are applied in various areas such as chemistry, marine environment protection (oil spill), auto industry (car 2000), agriculture (pesticide free crops) and medicine (intensive care, anaesthesia, oncology, cardiology, gynaecology, laboratory medicine).
