CATALYST is a large-scale MT application for commercial document delivery in the domain of heavy machinery. The open Research Programmer position will be responsible for the following tasks: * Maintain functional specifications and programmer documentation for CATALYST software modules and knowledge bases (e.g., syntactic parser, semantic interpreter, grammar, lexicon, etc.) * Analyze customer problem reports and perform regular update, test, and delivery of module software (primarily in LISP) * Participate in the design and implementation of new support tools and modules (LISP/C++) * Provide general programming / UNIX support for other members of the research team * Maintain a responsive and professional relationship with customer personnel The successful applicant must have the following qualifications: * B.S. in Computer/Information Science (or related field), or equivalent experience * Strong programming skills in Unix, Lisp and C++.
