We are investigating the problem of hearing pitch on voiceless vowels
in Japanese. Obviously a voiceless vowel does not have pitch in the
ordinary sense, but some kind of difference, perceived as pitch, does
seem to be present.

I would appreciate references to literature discussing this issue,
both in general and in reference to Japanese.

Thanks
