To make room for another classroom our dept is junking a lot of
old computer equipment. Butterflys, vaxes, lisp machines,
and from a robot builders viewpoint more interesting, a lot of
old big disk drives. The disk drives hopefully have useful motors,
and maybe some usable mechanics in them.

I would appreciate any advice on what to pull from the disk drives.
I was hoping on not only getting the motors, but also the power electronics
neded to drive them + the power supply. The disk drives appear to be Eagle
"emulex" (text on front panel) Probably 8'' drives 5 - 10 years old. Has
anybody salvaged parts from this kind of a disk before? Were the parts
useful? Suggestions on other things to pull?

Thanks,
Martin
