I am trying to get together a robotics lab, and it looks like I will be
using Sun Sparcs for the computer end; the lab has space for the robots and
is underused at present, so any bid to use them will be treated favourably.
Also, my own research work was on Suns, so it is a platform I am familiar
with. So the question is, can I compile, assemble and download programs to
either 8051's or 68HC11's? And are there any freeware packages for this
platform, or source code for cross-compiling onto the processors?

The machines have RS-232 serial ports, so all we need is the software!

Yours Mike Reddy
