For those of you that said you wanted some of those precision motors, I
will be sending you some email giving the status.
For the rest of you folks, I came accross some great motors that would
work well in a sumo type robot or where enormus power is needed in a
small motor. I found some 12 volt DC motors that are made by Barber
Colman. These GEARHEAD motors are 1 1/4 inch diameter by 2 7/8 inch
long. The shaft is 3/16 inch dia with a milled flat. The shaft is 1/2in
long. It comes complete with a nice removable motor mount that can be
easily modified to fit just about any installation. The motor draws about
100 ma at no load and about 300ma loaded down with a pair of needle nose
on the shaft. I cannot stall this motor. While the RPM is only about
16RPM with a large wheel this would make a great motor for a robot. If
there is enough interest like there was in the precision small motors, I
will make a mass buy. The cost for these gems will be about $10 each.
They are used but have been test run to ensure they are ok. Senmd me some
email if interested. I'll decide if there is enough interest in a bout a
week and can have the motors in three weeks.
