Just a guess, Mark, but I'd say they were probably borrowed, or imported.

Did you perchance mean to ask how *many* Middle Dutch roots ... ? ?

The really odd thing would be to find *Modern Dutch* roots in Middle 
English words.  What did Chaucer call cole slaw?
