For some weeks now, my .signature file has read as it does at the end of this
message, asking those who read my postings to support the creation of a new
Usenet hierarchy dedicated to topics in the arts and humanities.

The Call for Votes has at last been posted, to those groups originally named in
the Requests for Discussion for this hierarchy: NEWS.ANNOUNCE.NEWGROUPS,
NEWS.GROUPS, NEWS.ADMIN.MISC, ALT.CONFIG, BIT.ADMIN, MISC.MISC, REC.MISC,
SOC.MISC, REC.ARTS.MISC, SOC.HISTORY, and SCI.CLASSICS. Since it is a very
long CFV (523 lines according to my newsreader), I hesitated to forward it to
these groups which I read (or have read until recently).

Instead, I would ask you all to subscribe to one of the groups to which it has
been posted, read it over, and vote on the issue.

Please note the Follow-Up: line in this post: I've directed any follow-ups to
the groups that usually are involved in newsgroup discussion, to avoid clogging
up (in some cases) some already high traffic groups.
