I'm interested in how the physical speech structures in the
brain develop in children. Specifically, I'm interested
in what is genetic and what is environmental (e.g., accents
seem to be environmental, but become "hard-wired" in the
brain by puberty).

Could someone recommend a good book on this?
Is there a more appropriate newsgroup or mailing
list than sci.lang?

I'm really really interested in how the neurological
development of speech affects speech disorders such
as stuttering, but as far as I know there isn't anything
published on this.
