there is a newsgroup called alt.chinese.text, articles there are supposed
to be HZ (HanZi) encoding. The default input method of HZ is PinYin. thus
i would say go and check FAQ about that group (which is posted every month
on news.answers and alt.chinese.text.

you can also go directly to ifcss.org by anonymous FTP to find chinese
related software and readings. enjoy!
