There is magic.  The assignment of ideas to symbols, and the manipulation of
the symbols. How so you know the universe is simply atoms? have you seen
one, or are you simply believing on trust that they exist, buying into a
concept invented by others.  As for time being a human concept, this highly
anthropomorphic.  If we cannot speak the language of other species, we
cannot know whether or not there are other time keepers in the universe. 
Because this is unknowable, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
