It was in Scientific American just a few months ago -- a
sort of debate between Searle and somebody else.

The original "Chinese room" paper can be found reprinted
in "The Mind's I", edited by Hofstadter and Dennett, along
with some nice discussion of it. The paper first appeared
in the journal Behavioral and Brain Sciences, accompanied
by a few dozen critical commentaries.
