Kasparov won the match with a big final victory. He says he
figured out a good way to deal with the machine by creating
positions that the computer did not deal with well, but he
thinks there are very few players in the world who could
make it to those positions agains Deep Blue. He seems to
have been surprised and impressed by the strength of the
machine as an opponent. You can check out his comments and
match details on IBM's web site http://www.ibm.com .
It seems that most members of the Deep Blue team were not
big chess studs, so the playing logic might not be as
impressive as the raw power of the machine.
