Somebody! Shoot this nutter!

Anyone who says that obviously knows little about computing, or has
a financial interest in the perpetuation of a platform which should
have been scrapped years ago.

In twenty years from now will I be able to go to an ultra-integrated
workstation with a ridiculous specification and boot up windows or
type DIR and get a DOS directory display? I think not. Windows is a
pimple on the buttocks of GUI computing. As for DOS, the less said
the better.

If the curriculum in this country was any good they'd be teaching me
C++ on UNIX workstations. As it is I'm being taught Pascal on a PC.
Bugger all use that will be. I certainly don't admit to it on my CV.

I mean, I can understand the Mac->Acorn whine - at least there is
some sort of comparison - but PCs? For smegs sake! I've used them,
I've programmed them, and I can confidently say they are total kak.

If the future is IBM I want to be humanely destroyed.

Oh yes, I notice in the title you emphasise STANDARD. Whatever happened
to individuality? Are you somekind of sheep?

Tony.
