Announcement from iPass
SCS Facilities has received the following announcement from iPass:
Location: Dulles (IAD) and Reagan National (DCA) Airports, Washington DC, US
Status: Both Reagan National and Dulles airports have SSIDs that broadcast "tmobile" and "attwifi" throughout the terminals. Both of these SSIDs appear in iPassConnect as iPass enabled networks and neither allows a user to successfully connect. Over the past several months we have worked with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to get our own SSID added at both airports as they will not let us use our partners, T-Mobile US and AT&T. At Reagan National, our SSID is "Reagan National WiFi" and at Dulles it is "Washington Dulles WiFi". These SSIDs are fully available and operational for iPass customers using iPassConnect.
Please note that "tmobile" and "attwifi" SSIDs will continue to broadcast at Reagan National Airport and users who attempt to connect to these SSIDs will still see authentication errors. There is no current plan from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to change this. Also - Access via the "tmobile" SSID is still available when connecting from inside of the airline clubs and lounges. iPassConnect will detect multiple SSIDs in the main area of the terminals as iPass enabled including ¡Èattwifi¡É and ¡Ètmobile¡É. However, none of them are available for use by iPass customers. These signals can bleed over into the clubs and lounges. Users will experience failures if they attempt to connect to any of these SSIDs in the terminals and they may experience intermittent failures when connecting to the ¡Ètmobile¡É SSID in the clubs and lounges.
SCS Facilities will provide updates on this matter as we receive them from iPass.
