SCS Email Service
SCS Computing Facilities supports the
Corvid
email system and strongly encourages all SCS members to use it as their primary email service.
Quick Links
- If you recently joined the SCS community, you should already have an account on the Corvid system. If you have been here a while, inquire about your Corvid account status by contacting the SCS Facilities Help Desk (x8-4231) or sending email to <help@cs.cmu.edu>.
- You can access your SCS email using a conventional email client, the SCS Webmail interface, or both.
- Users with a specific need for Microsoft's Exchange email service may also contact the HelpDesk to request an account on that system.
Click on your email client (listed below at left by platform type) for detailed instructions on how to configure that application. The first part of this two-phase procedure gives access to your incoming mail. To minimize security risks, be sure to complete the second part, which enables encryption of outgoing mail. Experienced users may find the typical settings (below at right) useful.
