My tilt shifted images were created by allowing the user to define a point on the line of focus and a dirrection(vertical or horizontal) and magnitude for the blur. The user can also define a mask for an area to stay in focus (as illustrated in the first and third images). The bluring is done by progressivly taking areas further from the line of focus and bluring them, then recombining the blurred and not blurred areas and then repeating with a further distance from the line of focus. I also increase the color saturation after the blurring has been completed. I think this worked quite well. The 4th and 5th images were taken in my apartment, 6th and 7th taken off of flickr.com.
