Project 2

Overview
This project was designed to produce hybrid images. My approach parameterized this operation by
specifying a radius for the gaussian blur, which ends up being an arbitrary quantity of reasonable
magnitude for the user to specify. I implemented this in Matlab.
Magnum Opus
This image is a morph of my face with the official portrait of the President of the United States.
I'm especially fond of this hybrid because, even at a distance when the President is primarily
visible, my ridiculous smile still trumps his stately smirk.

Inputs
Process
This multiplot shows the inputs, their filtered forms, and the fourier transform of each.
Transform
This is the fourier transform of the resultant image.

Study Habits
I really have nothing against our library, but I couldn't resist.

Look and Obey (Problem Case)
I wanted to see what would happen if I took our relatively simple logo (with text) and made a hybrid
with a complex scene like the eye of sauron. It didn't work very well, probably because there are
very few high-frequency components in the logo (which I wanted to be the detailed part of the
image). I also think this likely failed because there were so many darker tones in the background
that I really had to blur it heavily to get the effect to show up at all.
