Automatic Slide Show Creation

Final Project

We all have pictures. A lot of us have lots of pictures. With all of these photos laying around in our computer systems, there should be a way to easily display them in a intelligent manner. Currently a "slideshow" type display gives a random spattering of images, fading in and out at preset time. This process gives no credit to the images themselves. What color are the images? Is there any importance in groups? What is in the image? Along with that, more slideshows only give the slide part of the slideshow and not the full show. Music always makes silent things better!

So in this project I set out to make a program that could assemble a slideshow in a intelligent way. The goal was that the input for the program would be a set of images and a song, and the output would be the slideshow, with minimal user input. Before I started, I talked to a number of people who know what they are talking about when it comes to pictures and movies to get a feeling for what some important functionalities might be.
