Vertigo Animation
Vertigo

Writeup
For this project I used a Kodak EasyShare DX6490 camera to capture all the images seen in the above animation. I chose this particular piece of abstract art because I thought that it would be a good candidate for an object where change in perspective would be noticeable. Also, the size of the object let me more or less accurately always frame it correctly when changing the zoom since I only had to line up the edges of the camera with the edges of the object. I took a series of 45 pictures, 3 pictures from every distance and fov. I then threw 2 of the 3 away, keeping the best of the bunch leaving me with 15 frames of vertigo. It was somewhat difficult towards the end when I was sufficiently zoomed out because I did not have a tripod or a dolly, so getting a solid picture with the object correctly framed and not blurry was difficult. However, there are some nice effects to be noticed in the animation. Particularly the base of the art piece and the bike that eventually dissappears behind the left most orange cube. Also striking is the change in size of the reflections in the window.
