Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
The Bachelor of Science program in Computer Science combines a solid
core of Computer Science courses with the ability to gain real depth
in another area through a required minor in a second subject. In
addition, there are numerous choices in the curriculum for science
and humanities courses. As computing is a discipline with strong
links to many fields, this provides students with unparalleled flexibility
to pursue allied (or non-allied) interests.
For more information, see the Department
of Computer Science.
Human-Computer Interaction Double Major
Human Computer Interaction (HCI) is a new and fast growing field
devoted to the design, implementation, and evaluation of interactive
computer-based technology. Examples of HCI products include intelligent
computer tutors, wearable computers, and highly interactive web-sites.
Constructing an HCI product is a cyclic, iterative process that
involves at least three stages, design, implementation, and evaluation.
For more information, see the Human-Computer
Interaction Institute.
Robotics Minor
As its name suggests, the robotics minor focuses on robotics. It
is open to students in all colleges of the University, but is housed
in College of Engineering. Students enrolled in this minor will
be exposed to, and hopefully interact with, the robotics research
efforts of the College of Engineering and the Robotics Institute.
This minor provides a central unified set of requirements and a
focal point for all undergraduates who are interested in robotics
at Carnegie Mellon
For more information, see the Robotics
Institute.
