Gesture Recognition on a Mobile Robot Stefan Waldherr Gestures are an essential part of communication --- not only in human interaction but increasingly in human-robot interaction. I will give a short overview what other people have done in this field and explain in what way my system differs. The system roughly consists of three parts. Find and track a person. Identify the person's arm-position over time and try to identify a sequence of arm-positions as a gesture. Since I haven't implemented the complete system yet, I would like to use this opportunity to brainstorm about parts of the system, which are not finished.
