A 2 year a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is available immediately in the
Interactive Cognition Lab, Dept. of Cognitive Science, UCSD, funded through
an NIA grant to investigate skill acquisition and cognitive compensation in
Tetris.  We are building 3 computer models of skill learning:  perception
based, case based, and rule based.  The research fellow will work closely
with Dr. David Kirsh and other research scientists.  The successful
candidate must have knowledge of AI programming, machine learning and
elementary statistics to help design, implement and interpret the results of
these models.   Knowledge of Lisp, C++,  and cognitive modelling is
essential.  PhD required.  Salary negotiable but approximately $30K.  The
University of California, San Diego is located on the Pacific coast in La
Jolla, about 10 miles north of downtown San Diego.  UCSD is an equal
