Jacqueline C. Morby

Managing Director, TA Associates

 

Mrs. Morby was a General Partner then a Managing Director of TA Associates from 1982 to 2002. She served on the firm's Executive Committee from 1988 to 2001. She retired in 2003 but continues to serve as an active Principal of the firm representing the TA's private equity funds on the Boards of Directors of several investments. Formed in 1968, TA Associates operates from offices in Boston, Menlo Park, Pittsburgh and London and manages over $5 bilion of private equity investement capital. The firm invests in a wide variety of technology and service industries. Mrs Morby graduated from Stanford University (1959) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and from the Simmons Graduate Management School (1978) with Masters in Management degree. Prior to joining TA Associates in 1978, she held an administrative position ar Hughes Aircraft Company.

Mrs Morby serves in the Boards of ANSYS, Inc. (public), HVL,Inc. (private), J&B Software, Inc. (private), SoftMed Systems, Inc. (private), NxTrend Technology, Inc. (private) and Pacific Life Corp., A fortune 500 company. She has also served as a Director od the following public companies: Axent Technologies, Inc., BMC Software, Inc., Boron, LePore & Associates, Inc., Ontrack Data International Inc., Ecometry Corporation, System software Associates, Sierra On-Line Inc. and AI Corp. She is known as a specialist in computer software investements.

Mrs. Morby serves on the advisory Board of carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science, as well as on the Board of Advisors of Inreoads Capital Management, a Chicago-based venture capital firm which focuses on investments in women and minority run companies. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Simmons College, serves on the Board of Trustess of the Pittsburgh Symphony, LEAD Pittsburgh and the Board of Directors of Innovation Works, a state-financed organization which provides initial capital for new enterprise formation. She is also a member of the Committee of the 200 and the International Women's Forum.
