Giving / Ph.D. in Computational Biology

Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh have joined forces to establish an exciting new interdisciplinary program leading to a Ph.D. in Computational Biology. Faculty members from the Department of Biological Sciences and the School of Computer Science will join colleagues at Pitt in launching this joint program The goal of the Ph.D. program is to provide intensive interdisciplinary education to enable outstanding students to become leaders in identifying and solving tomorrow's biological problems using computational methods.

In recognition of this important milestone, the DSF Charitable Foundation, a Pittsburgh-based philanthropy, has agreed to match 1:1 gifts to Carnegie Mellon for the new PhD program. The challenge ends on November 30, 2006
