NIPS*2001
Instructions for Formatting Submissions

Authors: Papers for NIPS*2001 must be prepared according to the instructions provided here.

Guidelines
Papers may be only up to seven pages long, including figures and references. We emphasize that papers exceeding the 7-page limit will not be accepted. Authors are required to use the style files available below. Please print out the nips01.ps file, read the instructions carefully, and prepare your papers accordingly. Resist temptations to redefine parameters such as \textheigt and \textwidth to give yourself more space. Stay with the required font sizes. rtf and latex are not acceptable submission formats. Papers that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered.

Note: The published proceedings will not include colour figures. Authors should therefore ensure that any information on colour figures is also discernable when printed in black and white.
Style Files
Note that this year's style files are the same as last year's. However, in general, please do not use the style files from previous years.

Don't be alarmed when you see "NIPS*99" written in nips01.ps, and disregard the comments about hard copies. We are not accepting paper manuscripts this year.
Latex 2.09 .sty file | Latex 2e .sty file | Latex .tex file | Postscript | Microsoft Word .rtf file

For those authors running the most recent release of Latex (Latex 2e), better results will be obtained by using the 2e style file (nips01e.sty). Authors using the older Latex 2.09 should use the 2.09 style file (nips01.sty) (no e). The .tex file we have provided uses nips01.sty.

Thanks to Leemon Baird for creating the original .rtf style file.
