Suggestions for Good Poster Presentations

1) Keep fonts large so everything can be read from at least 3 feet away.

2) Minimize text in favor of graphics where possible.

3) Keep the color scheme simple, using color changes when they're required to make a point. Arbitrary color changes contribute to clutter and viewer fatigue.

4) Plan your poster narration ahead of time. (Maybe two, a quick overview, and a detailed version.)

5) Tack an envelop to the poster board to collect requests for preprints (or bring a pile of copies of your manuscript).

6) If possible, print a portable (letter or A4 size) version of your poster for handouts.
