I was wondering if anyone could recommend any books on: 1) the social
processes that were involved in forming and popularizing new words in
antiquity (i.e., what, if any, particular individuals or groups tended to form
them and how the words spread outside the group); and, 2) the psychological
processes that must be involved in forming new words from old ones ?

Thanks in advance.

Steve
