This is a science fiction book about a time traveller who goes back to
1348 and finds that, despite extensive preparation, she cannot understand
the spoken languages at all.
As part of the fictional presentation, there are extensive phonetic
transcriptions of upperclass speech, and some of lowerclass.
Based on my limited ME background, I'm skeptical about the
plausibility of her hypothetical reconstruction.
Have any ME experts looked at this? or transcribed the dialog?
thanks,
