And Tsingdao beer.  Er, I mean *German* spreads along with Tsingdao

Has our language been debased by post-structuralism to the degree that
"postcolonial" can refer to the situation in a country that was never
a colony?

I *am* looking at the cultural scene and, trust me, I don't!  American
t.v. and movies are popular in Scandavia and the rest of Europe.  
Knackebrod and Volvos (not to mention Ace of Base and Roxette) are 
popular in the US.  Nu?  What any of this has to do with "imperialism" 
is beyond me.
