Nitpicking following Ivan's posts.
1. _samka murav'ja_ (female ant) can be replaced by much more
natural _muravyikha_. Cicada's counterpart could be _sarancha_ or
_saranchikha_ (the latter would be preferable because the former
is also a collective noun) so that _The Cicada and the Ant_ would become
_Saranchikha i muravyikha_ ( _The Locust and the Ant_) which sounds
pretty atrocious phonetically compared with very rythmnic _Strekoza i
muravey_.

2. _Kedr_ (cedar) could be Siberian Cedar which grows pretty far
north.
