I thought you would want to know that the conversational user
interface to run with Xwindows and MS Windows and replace the
graphic user interface for blind users is being demonstrated
currently.

At CSUN, you will be able to attend a presentation by the National
Security Agency in which they will show audio feedback and voice
macro command input as well as voice window navigation.  This may be
approaching the interface a bit differently than you both mentioned
in your posts, but the effect is to permit you to say what you want
without having to worry about memorizing spacial relationships of
windows, icons, etc.

You will also see a MS Windows conversational user interface
demonstrated (and it will be shipping shortly).  Henter-Joyce uses
its JAWS for Windows in combination with speech recognition to
convert the GUI into a CUI.

Both of these use IN CUBE Voice Command for the speech recognition.
