Help me please! I am trying to rehabilitate a group of twenty
IS Robotics R1's which have been in storage for too long. They were
built way back in the eighties! They were built by refurbishment
of a R/C car chassis, to wit the Kyosho Baja Bug. Now their front
tires have disintegrated from being in storage for too long.

These are small tires, ~2.2 cm ID, ~3.9 cm OD. They are stamped with
the Kyosho logo, the numbers : "185/60", and the Bridgestone logo.

ISX says they don't have any of these tires in stock. They stopped
manufacturing the R1 years ago.

Radio Shack doesn't carry replacement parts.

My local hobby stores tell me they don't stock tires like this, and
referred me to their distributors.

All the distributors say they no longer carry tires this small, and
referred me to Kyosho.

Kyosho says they don't manufacture tires that small anymore, although
one guy at Kyosho that I spoke with suggested that we build up the
wheels with foam and retrofit different tires. He said it is a common
technique among R/C modellers.

Any help would be appreciated! Specifically, you can help me if :
- You have tires of this exact type to sell
- You have some tires of a similar design to sell
- You can give me pointers on working around this problem on the
assumption that I cannot find replacement tires.

What is this foam business? How can I do the construction? Does anyone
have any tips?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Patrick
