Hi all,
Last weekend I had the pleasure of hosting BoRG (Boston Robot Group) at
my place in Woburn. We had two new members, Tom Cicatelli and Joe Kup
come by and Mark Adams also came with a copy of the San Francisco Robotic
Society's annual Sumo Robot Contest and lots of ideas on how to improve
the group and make it better.

The video was pretty good and showed that even a 16 year old kid can win
in a Sumo Robot contest, one came in 3rd with a very simple 'bot that
tried to scoop the other guy off the field with a couple of right angle
brackets that flopped into place once the bot started.

The other cool part was watching some of the big names from these
discussions compete. Chuck McMannis was there and a few other well known
names pitted their wits against each other.

Mark and I are going to try and co-ordinate with the BCS robot group and
have a fairly big January kick-off to re-vitalise the group. That way we
can use BCS resources and facilities for bigger, better meetings.

Hope to see you there in January!

-John C.
