No, sonar range and object detection, ala the polaroid modules that measure
distance and autofocus/autoaperture. Many robots built have used this
method as a primitive form of vision, since there is little background
noise at sound freqs above human hearing, and there IS at visible
frequencies, from spurious light and other hot and infrared sources.
