Mr Tallent,
	I am currently perusing catalogs from the followinig people:

		pittman
		maxon
		escap

Dont waste your time for a few motors; they all make very nice motors,gear reductions,etc but small motors for small robots cost $100+ in small quantites
(less than ~20).

I have found some surplus gear motors from the above companies in a catalog
from Servo Systems for about $20.00 each, but most of them are rated for
15+ volts. They have a new catalog coming out in a few weeks, so their
inventory could improve.

If we can get 8 other people to buy 2 motors (total 20),
they can be had for about $25 each from pittman. BTW, the
single unit price for that same motor is $125 !!

Here are the specs for that gearmtor (these can be modified if needed to
get 8 people to buy with us):

The motor:	Pittman gm8822 gearmotor
		6V
		noload speed = 7847 RPM
		stall torque = 7.37 oz-in
		noload current = 49mA
		torque constant = 0.97 oz-in/A
		weight = 4.69 oz
		copper-graphite brushes

The gears:	160 oz-in torque
		41.8 RPM
		59% efficiency
		weight=2.76 oz

Total length=2.9 inches
Total weight=7.45 oz
Total price= ~ $27

I confess I am not a motor person, but pittman does have a wide selection
to choose from if we can order in quantity 20 for a reasonable price.

What do you think about this motor for the 6270 board for
8 Volts/700mah and a 2lb robot I need to go .25 mph up a 30 degree slope?
