Dave,
I'm surprised some people thought you had "crossed the line" with that
offer. I thought it was reasonably and politely presented.
As a "commercial" member of this group myself (I'm editor of Robot Explorer
newsletter and mail order) I've been very careful to try and maintain the
"non-commercial" spirit of the net by communicating commercial messages
behind the scenes in e-mail.
However, unlike many of the products we provide, your offer was linked to
small quantities of a product directly associated with various contests and
which should be of interest to any number of net members.
To have your post quashed (or perhaps flamed) during the same week there
was a blatant posting of a Mini-Board catalog is incomprehensible.
Let's all get back to the main purpose of this newsgroup and start making
some fabulous robots which, after all, will need to be commercial to succeed.
