Subject: small colour cameras ?

A friend has asked me about suppliers of small CCDs/cameras
for use in a sort of endoscope (I think). He needs to have colour
and reasonable resolution (about 512x512 is ok) and a remote
camera is also OK (ie using fibre), all linked to a PC.

Does anybody have any thoughts ? We need low cost (doesn't
everybody !) and fairly robust. Size is the main issue, the end
being no bigger than a pencil. How does one go about hooking up
a fibre to say a CCD device (pointers to books are very welcome).
What about lighting the subject, can we use other fibres in a bundle ?

Many thanks in advance and I apologise now for starting yet another
camera thread (I usually don't follow them ... that'll teach me!)

Phil
