I am using the 68HC16EVB to develop a small mobile robot, and I have
reached the stage where I need a little help...

1. Is it possible to use EVB16 to download a program, start the program
running and then disconnect the parallel port cable? My EVB crashes
every time I try, and I can't see any obvious way of stopping that
occurring (short of replacing the PAL). Did I miss something obvious
somewhere?

2. I need a good quality C-compiler that uses all the nice DSP features
of the 68HC16, optimizes down to _fast_ code and has source-level debugging.
Preferably from someone with an Australian supplier/support system.
(I don't ask for much, really.)

Thanks in advance to anyone with some suggestions.

Cheers

Gordon
