The item you want is called the Roland Camm-3. It's a 3 axis CNC milling
machine with an accuracy of .01 mm. It works with plastic, modeling wax,
wood, aluminum, and brass according to the brochure. It has an RS232 port as
well as manual controls and takes up about the same amount of desk space as
the average PC. I've seen them at a couple of computer shows and they look
like a really nice unit. Last time a saw one was a couple of years ago so
they might have quit making them. Call your local Roland dealer. The model
number is the PNC 3000. The only problem I could see with them was the price.
Last time I saw one they were $11,000 Canadian. That's about $800 US. ;^) Of
course the price may have come down a bit since then.
