Hi, my name is Philip Kan. I am studying Compter Science Honours at
Curtin University in Western Australia.

My project is an extension of the work by Ben Kuipers and Yung-Tai Byun.
Basically, a robot learns to recognize the distinctive places in an
enclosed environment (like where two corridors meet, or where one comes to
an end), and the paths between them. What I am trying to do is expand this
to where the environment can change. For example - moving pedestrians, doors
opening and closing etc. The latter of these two I am more interested in..

Is there any kind of work going on in this field? Whose papers should I be
lookinng at for more research? currently I've got papers by Kuipers and Byun,
as well as Tod Levitt and Daryl Lawton. Any more?

Any response welcome, email or post is ok...

Thanx in advance
Phil
