I remember reading a few years back about a way to make cheap CCD with a $10
EPROM or PROM or some such thing and a $2 plastic lens. Well, recently I
have a need for something like that, actually a bunch of them, and I can't
seem to find ad's for them anywhere. Are these still possible or did the
manufactures stop making the parts? I remember that you had to strobe them
over time to get greys, and that they were about 128x64 or some low
resolution. Price is the real key, I want to keep them under $25 a piece or
so. If you know how or where I can find more information on them, please
send me email.

PS: The CCD's in a line won't work, the motors to move 'em back
and forth are noisy, and the square ones are too expensive ($100+ per).
