DAT is a promising technology which which will probably supplant DCC
unless some completely different format (e.g., magneto-optical disks)
takes over first.  The main advantage of DAT is its compatibility with
analog cassettes.

The CIA is quite interested in these types of issues, insofar as they
affect the careers of music students.  (CIA stands for California
Institute of the Arts.)

The whole point of this post is to point out what is wrong with acronyms.
I invite all readers to participate in the AAP.  This will improve the
quality of future posts by avoiding the ambiguities inherent in these
god-awful acronyms.  (AAP is the Acronym Avoidance Program.)
