If you are interested in writing rule-based systems in Prolog, you might
want to play with the prototypes for _Building Expert Systems in Prolog_
(by Dennis Merritt, Springer-Verlag) in http://world.std.com/~amzi/ or
ftp.std.com:ftp/vendors/amzi/programs/XSIP.*

It contains simple expert systems shells (inference engines) written in
native Prolog, through to backward and forward chaining systems and a
modified RETE algorithm.

If you want further information, please e-mail me at amzi@world.std.com

Mary Kroening
