Hello,

CYC seems like a complete waste of time and money.

Mr. Drysedale tried to convince Jed that he should take up
a hobby - building ships inside bottles ...

Jed: (examining the ship in the bottle) How do you get it out?

Mr D: You don't.

Jed: How do you sail it?

Mr D: You just look at it.

Jed: Seems like he wasted a ship and a bottle.

Mr D: Yes, but think of all the hours of effort he spent.

Jed: Yeah, he wasted them too.

(Sorry for the small errors in the dialogue, my apologies to
the hard-core BH fans).

Please refer to Pattie Maes for more interesting research on
autonomous agents. Rod "the Mod" Brooks also has done
interesting work on situated agents based on his subsumption
architecture. I suspect his group at MIT will spawn the
first reasonable facsimile of an autonomous being.

Best wishes for 1995,
Ian
