If you have the money, I would consider going with the mac.
The biggest advantage is that if you are running AU/X you can
also run many Mac applications too... Currently, Linux can't really
do this but it is expected to emulate Windows in the future. If you
don'
t have a lot of money then I would go with as powerful a PC as you
can get and then run Linux on it.  I think that it might be difficult
to port programs to AU/X, but i'm not sure... if anyone has a lot of
experience with this is would be great if they posted about this.
